Network Operation Project

We are engaged in research and development of advanced operation technologies towards realizing the self-evolving zero-touch operation concept.

Self-evolving zero-touch operation technology

We are researching artificial intelligence (AI) for network operations (NW-AI) that automates each process of maintenance work (e.g., analyzing alarms and identifying failure locations) executed by humans and enables autonomous response to various environmental changes (e.g., addition of new equipment and changes in network configuration). Ultimately, by linking these multiple NW-AI systems, we aim to implement self-evolving ZTO*1 that automates all maintenance-work processes (from anomaly detection to action) without need for human intervention. *1 ZTO: Zero Touch Operation

Cognitive Foundation®: Collaboration platform technology

We are continuing research and development of the O-RAN controller—which enables unified operational control of various devices in compliance with O-RAN*1 specifications and provides control functions as APIs. The O-RAN controller provides (i) control functions such as creation, modification, and deletion of NW slices as APIs compliant with ETSI-ZSM/3GPP standards and (ii) operational control functions such as automatic configuration of wireless base stations, collection and provision of PM*2 information, optimization of base station parameter values, and reduction of power consumption. *1 O-RAN: Open Radio Access Network

Research aiming to implement the Cognitive Foundation®

To promote B2B2X*1 under the Cognitive Foundation concept, the multi-orchestrator will provide partners with centralized management and optimal allocation of ICT resources*2. Conventionally, resources are created according to business requirements manually, but by linking requirements-analysis technology, componentization of development-code results, and optimal assembly, ICT resource control APLs*3 satisfying the requirements can be generated automatically. Through this research, we will help partner companies reduce the cost and time involved in building and operating resources and expand opportunities to create business. *1 B2B2X: Business co-creation model with partner companies
*2 ICT Resources: Multi-domain, multi-layer computing resources (including CPUs/GPUs and memory that make up various services) that support applications and solutions provided by service providers in various fields (Center B ).
