We aim to create a world where people with diverse characteristics can work together more efficiently. We need to reduce communication conflict caused by cognitive differences among people. We are researching perceptual stimulation to enable people to share their cognition. We are researching technologies to understand individual brains' characteristics and convert verbal and non-verbal information according to those characteristics.
People understand meaning by processing sensory information, such as visual and auditory information. Even when exposed to the same sensory stimuli, the content of cognition differs from person to person because of inborn characteristics of the brain and acquired changes in the brain, such as dementia.A variety of factors causes cognitive differences.
We are researching techniques to identify these cognitive differences and to support to fill in the gaps based on machine learning, psychological findings, and brain science findings. We are also researching technologies that convert facial expressions and gestures to compensate for differences in people's ability to recognize facial expressions.
