AI Constellation ― a collaboration of diverse AIs

AI Constellation is a large-scale AI collaboration technology that enables AI systems to engage in mutual discussion and correction, thereby generating solutions from diverse perspectives for problems that are difficult even to define. We started this initiative in FY2023.

In the AI Constellation initiative, we aim to create diverse values by having AI with various specialties express their opinions from their respective perspectives on complex issues. Additionally, by discussing the importance of opinions from these diverse perspectives based on expertise and future value, we seek to respect minority opinions and elevate the overall quality of community discussions. We have named this architecture, where diverse AI systems connect and interact with one another, “AI Constellation,” envisioning it as stars connecting to form a constellation.

We held a workshop called “Conference Singularity” for citizens to discuss local community issues together with AIs utilizing AI Constellation, which aims to create solutions from diverse perspectives through discussions among AIs. There is a need to promote discussions from multiple perspectives, such as the complexity of issues and differences of opinion depending on one's issue, and we verified whether AI Constellations can deepen discussions among humans.

To clarify the future vision and future concepts of the AI Constellation Initiative, we collaborated with WIRED Japan to hold an “AI Constellation Roundtable” and conducted discussions involving experts from various fields on the initiative. The results have been summarized in the “AI Constellation Blueprint” below.

The massive bandwidth of the APN (All Photonics Network) realized through the promotion of the IOWN initiative, combined with the diverse processors and distributed storage of DCI (Data Centric Infrastructure), enables AI Constellation to achieve massive knowledge exchange among AI systems. This will allow humans and AI to collaborate to achieve knowledge exchange that ensures diversity and fairness, contributing to the realization of a harmonious society on various scales, including individuals, cities, communities, societies, and the world.
